Synopsis

The eight line poem competition was set up in 2013 by award winning author Christina Gabbitas. The initiative was created to encourage children to have a go at writing poetry. Since its inception the competition has encouraged over 17,000 children to put pen to paper in the UK and United Arab Emirates – NOW 23,000 to date!

Author's Bio

Children from the UK and United Arab Emirates have penned some amazing poems. Winners have read their poems live on local BBC radio. Exhibitions have been held at various venues across the UK, and hopefully the Victorian and Albert Museum of Childhood in the very near future.
