The author’s career spanned 40 years as a print and broadcast journalist, first as a newspaper reporter in South Wales, and later producing regional news and current affairs programmes for ITV in the West of England. His biography of Dr Mebrahtu was only undertaken after he had retired.

This biography of Dr Mebrahtu is fascinating. Stan Hazell’s never dull, well-written and thought provoking book covers so many aspects on immigration. In my opinion, Stan really deserves this nomination in the People’s Prize competition. Well done!
