Author's Biography

Brendan McLaughlin worked as a social worker, serving some of the most deprived Scottish communities before eventually turning to pub ownership and the arts. A self-proclaimed ‘Scotialist’, he actively represented Glasgow’s working classes. Brendan died in July 2022, determined that his book be published as a memorial of his life.

  5. I loved visualising Brendan’s Glasgow; the social issues from his childhood; his youth, through to his adulthood. Social issues that many of us lived through.

  6. I remember all the events mentioned in the book although had forgotten some as Brendan was involved in so much hard to keep track
    loved the book much was like listening to him talking with the occasional “rant”!!!xxx
