Bernard by Rob Jones published by Beast in Show Books
Bernard is the tale of a misunderstood wild hound. Feared by local villagers who believe he wishes to eat them… All Bernard really wants to get his jaws around is a jar of strawberry jam! With striking 4-colour illustrations and easy to follow rhyming prose, Bernard is perfect for pre-schoolers.
TPBP Beryl Bainbridge Award for Best First Time Author
Children’s Poetry by Primary School Children published by Poems and Pictures Ltd
There are 62 first time UK authors in this book aged between 7 and 11. The imagination and effort invested by these budding poets make their work a pleasure to read/ and will encourage and inspire other children of primary school age to read and ‘have a go’ at writing. Christina Gabbitas created the writing initiative that children of all abilities could take part in, with the chance of having their work published. There is a donation of £1.00 per book sale to Barnardos. Illustrations by Ric Lumb.
