  6. Couldn’t put down! Highly recommend!

  7. What a deeply original and thought provoking story. I loved it. Whether you have/want children or not, Fledging will expand your thinking about what it means to become a mother (or parent, as I think men can equally find meaning in the story), and the myriad ways in which we all seek purpose in our lives.

  8. A beautifully written novel about an essential topic in adult life: to become or not to become a parent? Highly recommended!

  9. A well written first story. Very thought provoking. It flowed beautifully.

  10. A charmingly surreal story in which Rose Diell carefully presents the feelings of ambivalence that can surround motherhood.

  11. Highly recommend it. A great story about the complex baby question.

  12. Very honest book about women’s questions on babies and how the society imposes expectations on them. Highly recommend reading this irrespective of which side you sit on this topic.

  13. A beautifully-told story on a pertinent and personal topic for many women and men.

  14. Highly recommend. An unusual idea. Some exquisite writing

  15. Thank you for challenging my own preferences and prejudices. An exquisitely written book; I’d like to know what happens next – this story feels like the end of the beginning? Maybe a great start for a more considered Bridget-Jones type series as the world where we’re redefining what it is to be female. We need to grow older together with this book – and find out how things turn out in the end.

  16. A very interesting take on a subject that is not often addressed in literature.

  17. A fascinating, strangely believable story…I was gripped till the very end!

  18. it’s a book that spoke to me on so many levels, a window into my very soul. So beautiful and profound.

  19. Delightfully crafted, not a word out of place, despite exploring feelings that often go unspoken or are shrouded in shame. A masterpiece.

  20. Beautifully written and very thought provoking

  21. For fence-sitters, the decidedly-childfree and mothers alike, this is a witty and thought-provoking novel that explores society’s expectations of women and how that can shape our identities (even if we know deeply what we want, as the protagonist does), and how we find balance between our desires for ourselves and the roles we play in caring for others in our lives.

  22. A fantastic book! As a man wrestling with the implications of children, this book was thought provoking and challenged conventional wisdom. Looking forward to her next book.
