Authors Biography
Ursula Hurst is a professional illustrator and mural artist based in Cumbria.
She runs art workshops, coordinates community festivals, paints large scale murals and illustrates children’s books.
She has illustrated for many wonderful authors around the country and loves the challenge of creating artwork to draw in reluctant readers. She is currently working on a number of projects with more to be announced soon.
This beautifully illustrated book carries the strong message of how the small things we do can make a big difference. The character named Hope uses her art to bring her community together. This clever story can easily be used to inspire children to imagine how they can use their talents to make a big difference too. The detailed and attractive illustrations also carry a ‘spot the paintbrush’ game on each page – a truly wonderful book.

Great read for young artist.
The old lady, Mrs Green, in the story is so like my grandmother. She taught me how to knit too. These moments are so important in life and Drawing Hope encourages us to take the time to enjoy those moments.
I found this book when Ursula visited my daughter’s school. She was so excited after the visit and now wants to be an artist. Such an inspirational book. Good luck Ursula.
