Synopsis
Diplomat Jess Turner is the British Consul in Canberra. When a British business woman is brutally murdered in a Queensland resort Jess travels to Brisbane to liaise with the police. DI Tom Sangster is assigned the case. Between them, they must work together to solve the case.
Authors Biography
Born and educated in the UK, Jean worked as a British diplomat for many years. She spent much of her working life overseas in Embassies and High Commissions in Australia, Brussels, the Caribbean, China, East Berlin, Indonesia, Mauritius and Switzerland. She has travelled extensively and writes about all the countries she has lived in or visited. She has many stories in her to tell.

A pacy thriller: authentic due to the author’s background. You’ll feel you’re there in Australia with the protagonists and find yourself willing them to succeed in spite of many dangers. You won’t regret reading it, and it’s the first of three books – you’ll be hooked!
The first of three gripping thrillers – I’ve read them all and am hooked! You’ll get to know and care about the protagonist, a great character.

Definitely hooked after reading this first book, couldn’t put it down or turn the pages quickly enough. Deadly Deceit followed equally compelling to read and I can’t wait to start Missing in Shanghai. Highly recommended.
A superb first novel!
A very good first book with a new approach as the main character works for the diplomatic service. Pace did not slack and it kept my interest throughout. Looking forward to reading the next book from Jean.

Having lived in Australia for many years I was able to picture the location, feel the sun, smell the air, as this brilliant thriller unfolded. The story had me hooked from the first page, & the main two characters, having already come to know them from another of Jean Harrod’s Books, once again enthralled me. Jean certainly has the gift of captivating her readers. Lots more in this series please Jean.
