Synopsis
Nineteenth-century London. Clara Breslin is earning her keep in her brother’s apothecary. She isn’t interested in married life and spends her free time painting portraits of strangers who walk by her window. Her study is infuriatingly unexceptional – until she meets Matthias Tarasso, an actor.
Authors Biography
Deborah’s love of literature has been life-long but was truly ignited at The University of Lincoln. Her degree encouraged an interest in works from a broad range of historical periods, including Victorian and Gothic Literature. She moved on to a career in teaching but has always been pulled by a desire to write her own prose and poetry.
A good story and a surprising end!
A beautiful historical novel,it remains a novel that grabs you until the end
Fantastic read. 🙂
This story grips you from the first page. The twists and turns of the plot keep your interest until the last page and leaves you wanting more.
A clever story that stays with you, there is an artistry in the use of description that vividly draws the reader in to the point you feel that you are there watching the characters. I look forward to the next one by this author
